LES VILLNEFF - 1956 - 2023
He made his debut this year in the Peterborough Men’s Senior Slo Pitch League this past season, helping Team Currie Tire to finish in first place.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Doris and his brother Dale. He is survived by his wife Sherry; and his children, Margaret and John (Melissa).
His friend Gino Tucci said of him, “I worked and played ball with Les for many years at GE, he was great man. He always went above and beyond running our ball league, organizing the schedule and tournaments, spending a lot of his own time so that we could have a fun year. Not to mention all the work he put in so kids could enjoy the Xmas party. Over all a great caring man, husband, father and friend”.
Our league has made a donation to the Peterborough Chapter of The Special Olympics in Les’s memory, as requested by his family. We will have a moment of reflection for Les at the Club’s Christmas banquet on Dec 14th.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 2nd 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Nisbett Funeral Home (600 Monaghan Rd, Peterborough, ON K9J5H9). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 2nd 2023 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
